Flash is an exciting development for virtual tours due to its high levels of accessibility. Over 95% of all users have the Flash plugin installed, so it’s easy for users to view your tours. Tours can now be viewed at a larger size, with greater detail and a smoother movement. Flash also offers great opportunities for adding multimedia content to your virtual tours. Flash is available for Windows OS and for Macintosh OS.

Java
Java is a good all-round applet (a small application running inside a bigger one, like a web browser) which is swift to download, and is installed on almost all PCs, as well as being accessible from mobiles and handheld devices. It’s a useful technology for virtual tours, presenting both full and small screen tours, but some older computers struggle to present tours at fullscreen through Java. High and Low Resolution Virtual Tours
High-resolution, full screen panoramas offer the best virtual tour viewing experience. They're ideal for a high-impact presentation of a space. The best mainstream plugin for viewing full screen is Apple QuickTime, though Flash 9 is close behind. Full screen panoramas can also be displayed in Shockwave but there is a deterioration in quality. Panoramas are typically 1 to 3 megabytes in size.
Low-resolution, small screen panoramas are ideal if a large number of tours are required. They are best viewed in Quicktime but can also be viewed in Flash, Java and shockwave. Low-resolution panoramas are typically 75 KB to 500 KB.
